About.

How do we inspire ourselves to greatness when nothing less will do? How do we inspire everyone around us? I sometimes think it is by using the work of others.

The quote above was said by Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela in the movie, Invictus (2009).

In the midst of our busy and demanding lives, we often miss out on the simple and beautiful things that surround us. But occasionally, these small things break through — a friendly smile, a note on the fridge, an encouraging word, a touch on the arm, the kindness of a stranger and friend — and touches us. And it lifts us up (if only for a moment).

For me, these little things are quotes. Words of wisdom from those before us. To know that someone else has gone through what you’re going through, and are all the wiser for it. To re-assess our circumstance with grace and humor.

And that’s how this project was born.

A bit of photojournalism. I hope these quotes will help you as much as they have helped me. (I wonder how long it will take before the quotes run out!)

I would also really appreciate your comments or sharing of quotes and instances that have helped you!

Take care.

  1. Dear reader,

It has been more than a year since I’ve begun this project. And I – regretfully – have not been able to keep my end of the bargain. To be honest, this blog began as a way for me to see the better side of a difficult journey and training. It has been more than a year since then, too. Today, I was chatting with a friend about blogs that our friends have written, and how inspired we were by them.

And this gave me a little spark to redo/kickstart this project again. This time, it won’t be one post per day, but several over a month, so that it’s not so much obligations but inspirations and enjoyment.

Will you come with me this second time?

I hope you will say yes.

    Take care,
    ITL
